Vermont Deer Trackers!
Mission Statement: To reduce the number of deer wounded and left in the woods to die during hunting season.
Overview:The Vermont leashed tracking dogs are a group of volunteers who use specially trained tracking dogs to find wounded big game that are difficult to track by eye. Volunteers are located throughout Vermont and are licensed by the State of Vermont. You’ve made what you thought was a good shot and you’ve been on the trail for hours tracking the blood as far as you could. Suddenly you come to the realization that you have wounded a deer and you may not be able to recover it. This is a “crippling loss”. What do you do now? Fortunately for you, an organization of dedicated, conservation-minded volunteers were brought together for the purpose of reducing “crippling loss”. This group is called Vermont Leashed Dog Trackers. The Vermont Leashed Dog Trackers are a group of men and women that volunteer their time and energy to help the hunter recover their wounded deer or bear.
